Giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi webinar

Te Tiriti o Waitangi, first signed here at the Treaty Grounds on 6 February 1840, is one of our most important founding documents. Formalising the complex relationships between Māori, tangata whenua of Aotearoa New Zealand, and the British government, it has often been misunderstood, and its journey to recognition has been challenging.

Webinar aims:

  • To explore key relationships and events  in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand

  • To develop your understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Treaty of Waitangi

  • To investigate practical ways of giving effect to Te Tiriti today
